Since one of the prime movers in the economy of the municipality is agriculture, the department looked into effective and efficient implementation of programs that would benefit the farm and fishing families. The PPAs are geared towards producing sufficient food for the benefit of the constituents.

The department pledge to prepare and develop and support in the implementation of the Municipal and Fisheries Development Plan and upon approval of the Municipal Mayor. The department looked into the areas on fisheries, crops, livestock and environment. This thrust aim to capacitate fishermen and farmers organization through transfer of updated technologies through trainings, seminars/EIC farm and home visits, and methods and result demonstration. The department also aspires to have strong and viable bilateral and multilateral linkages among agencies, NGOs and round-based organizations.

In order to deliver the exigency required by the office, services can be extended beyond office hours, weekdays and holidays. Further, the department does not charge Fishery and Agricultural Services fees and is open to feedback on the quality of services rendered.
